Shaun Menestrina Graphic Designer

PDF Download Resume

San Diego native Shaun Menestrina works as both an in-house designer for San Diego’s largest health care provider and as a freelancer who owns and operates meneDESIGN.

His graphic design career commenced at an early age as he honed his skills under the watchful eyes of renowned painter and professor, Gordon Lightfoot. Lightfoot, who is of American Indian descent, encouraged Menestrina to focus his creative energies on graphic design and to pursue his natural gift. Thus, an ambitious artist was born.

Menestrina, whose Italian nickname Mene has been passed down through generations, earned his Bachelor of Arts degree with an emphasis in Graphic Design from San Diego State University in 2001. He was one of just a handful of students who graduated from the program with honors. After graduating, he successfully launched his career with a colleague, founding Medialias Creative in San Diego.

In 2004, Menestrina joined the Creative Services team at Scripps Health where he is responsible for branding and design as seen throughout San Diego County. His goal is to bring branding and marketing to a higher, more personable level for health care.

In addition to several local, state and national design awards, Menestrina has been recognized by the art community with numerous scholarships, art guilds and art exhibitions. He has also been published in the world-renown Big Book of Logos 4 by David E. Carter.

A passionate surfer, Menestrina appreciates the simple pleasures life has to offer. He resides near Mission Bay and enjoys music, drawing and traveling.
